Butter Tarts ( my Mom's recipe )

2 cups packed brown sugar
4 eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup raisins
pinch of nutmeg
pinch of salt
unbaked tart shells

In medium sized mixing bowl, beat the eggs, brown sugar, and melted butter together with electric mixer. Now add the vanilla, raisins, salt and nutmeg and stir well to mix. Place by spoonfulls into unbaked tart shells.
Bake at 450F for 8 minutes, then reduce heat to 350F and continue baking the tarts till done - a nice golden brown and the filling is firm to the touch.

Note- You can make your own tart shells using your favorite pastry recipe or use the tart shells purchased in your local supermarket.
