Bran Muffins

1/2 cup canola oil or melted margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons syrup
1 cup bran
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup raisins

Beat together well the canola oil ( or margarine), brown sugar, eggs and syrup in mixing bowl. Now stir in the bran.
In a separate small bowl stir together the flour, baking soda and salt. Now add the flour mixture and buttermilk to sugar and egg mixture. Stir just till blended. Fold in the raisins. Put into greased muffin tins. Bake in preheated oven - 350F for 12 - 15 minutes till done. Enjoy!
